S.I.S (SÍMBOLO-IMAGEN-SONIDO) - 2025
Carlofrancesco Goldaniga (GIARDINO) and Jimena Vila (Apocalypso) created an audiovisual installation that, using astrological language and a device operated by a Raspberry Pi 4b, presented six audiovisual pieces.
The experience—designed for individual interaction—was primarily aimed at sensory immersion. They view art, from the perspective of the viewer (and, more subtly, the creator), as ultimately a pure celebration of life. Guided by this idea, they invited the audience to explore imagined spaces shaped by textures, colors, and sensations, fostering a contemplative and almost magical state. In the background, the installation subtly connected with the archetypes of the six astrological axes through concepts such as ephemeral beauty, free interpretation of reality, the value of isolated individual experience, the dissolution of linearity, the renunciation of expectations through abstract language, and themes related to technological ultraconsumerism (vaporwave), among others.
To bring this vision to life, they composed each of the audiovisual pieces—three to four minutes in length—resulting in six works to be projected.
The S.I.S. device, which they approached as a personal technical challenge, was designed around a Raspberry Pi 4b at its core and a homemade prototype button panel. The final device included six buttons, each with its own LED indicator, allowing viewers to select the piece they wished to experience.
Not being programmers or electronics specialists, they relied on AI support to develop the technical aspects of the device.
