Carlo was commissioned to compose, produce, and shape the sonic world of both original and adapted pieces for Analía Irigoyen’s theatrical work Obscena.
To tune the music to the pulse of the narrative, he took part in multiple rehearsals, absorbing the tone, the rhythm, and the shifting atmosphere of the scenes as they evolved. With the actresses and director still crafting a work in progress, the collaboration unfolded as something alive —dynamic, unpredictable, and deeply inspiring.
During the staging of the piece, Carlo also worked closely with the lighting designer, Paloma Ercilla, whose mastery added a distinct layer to the experience. Their exchange became another creative dialogue inside the project, one that informed and enriched the overall atmosphere of the performance.
The production received a strong critical response: the actresses, Marianne Garnier, Carolina Neka, and Sarai López, delivered a sublime performance in a compelling and nuanced piece — sincere yet infused with humour, subtle magic, and a sensuality both imposed and beautifully reclaimed, inviting the audience to fully inhabit the experience.
Obscena is expected to reach wider recognition soon, offering new audiences the chance to engage with it as deeply as he did throughout its creation.
